The Masquerade Theatre aims to encourage actors from all over the Globe to take a step into Shakespeare’s World, where we can all play together!
The Masquerade Theatre
Founded by Lizzy Booth in 2022.
Lizzy’s love for Shakespeare lit a major fire behind her love for acting and the stage from the time she was eight years old, when she first had the opportunity to act in a production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Ever since then, Lizzy has performed in a multitude of Shakespeare’s plays and has directed and assistant directed several live productions. In 2022, Lizzy was inspired by the Virtual Theatre scene that arose during the pandemic to start a theatre group called The Masquerade Theatre, which would offer Virtual Productions via Zoom. That summer, Lizzy directed and produced The Masquerade Theatre’s first show: a “Masq’d Staged Reading.” The first Masq’d Staged Reading was Much Ado About Nothing: A Virtual Performance, followed the next summer by Twelfth Night: A Virtual Performance! This past August, the Masquerade Theatre put up its first full production in NYC at the Court Square Theater!
